Mercedes launched the GLC, the sedan of the A-Class and the facelift of the E-Class as early as 2021. The fourth model to join the updated lineup is likely the GLA 2021, which could be launched in the country during the first week of May 2021.
The new GLA, which was launched for international markets last year, looks more SUV-like than the model of the previous generation. The height increased by 10 cm allows more headroom in the cabin. whereby a higher seating position is given. The strong kink lines on the bonnet, which flow up to the single-slat grille and are flanked by the new LED headlights, give the GLA an aesthetic appeal. The slimmer, split LED taillights with revised bumpers also contribute to the GLA’s much-needed SUV stance.
Inside, the GLA is expected to get a redesigned cabin centered around the dual-screen setup with the latest MBUX system. Other highlights of the Indian model are a panoramic sliding roof, leather upholstery, turbine-shaped ventilation slots, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting and technology for connected cars.
The 2021 GLA will be offered in both gasoline and diesel versions. Mercedes presented the 220d diesel version at the 2020 Auto Expo.
