10 Coolest Cars Danny Koker Wishes He Could Own

Danny “The Count” Koker is the host of one of the most popular automotive TV shows of all time, Counting Cars. However, he’s also a musician, producer, celebrity mechanic, and reality star. Having a successful career and a reality show based on automobiles has enabled Danny to collect quite a lot of cars for his own garage. Danny has once mentioned that he has over 50 vehicles in his garage. Whether it’s something he found on the streets of Las Vegas or someone brought a cool classic car to his shop Count’s Kustoms, if there’s something Danny sees that he wants, he will not give up on it easily. But there are some cars that even The Count himself might not be able to bring home.

Some of the coolest cars in the world are desirable because they are super exclusive. Even millionaires sometimes have to give up owning some of these cars because there are not nearly enough of them. The decreasing number of collectible cars and the increasing number of car collectors have rendered the classic car market harder to be successful in. Think about the ’70 Chevelle SS or the Nissan 240SX. These cars were once amazing bargains. But now, there are not a lot of them left, and the increased popularity has increased their demand. Today, they are some of the most overpriced cars that only the richest can throw money to acquire. Some cars, on the other hand, are so rare that you can only find them in either museums or private collections of billionaires. Here are ten such examples.

A while ago, we got to see a movie about the 1966 Le Mans called Ford v Ferrari. It was an epic movie about Ford’s triumph over the reigning 24-hour endurance race champion Ferrari. It starred Christian Bale and Matt Damon, but the actual hero was the 1966 Ford GT40.

In simple terms, the GT40 embodies victory, and more recently, words like classic or even legendary. Who wouldn’t want a piece of that? Turns out, many people, actually. Getting your hands on an original is not a simple job by any means.

The XJ220 is one of the most underrated supercars of all time. Together with the Bugatti EB110, the XJ220 came and conquered, but sadly, no one noticed. Today, the Jag’s popularity has increased exponentially, and the few models in excellent condition demanded half a million bucks.

Danny has to really want an XJ220 to buy it for such an amount of money. Performance-wise, it was the fastest car when it came out, so it still holds today. But let’s be honest here, the Jag will spend most of its time inside a garage.

Remember what we said about the Chevelle SS? Danny loves classic cars, and he loves muscle cars. Surprisingly, he still doesn’t own the Chevelle SS. This classic muscle car is nothing short of a legend. Just imagine the customizations he can do with the Chevelle in his shop.

The Chevelle is one of the most overpriced muscle cars on the market right now. Just like the Jag mentioned above, you have to really want a Chevelle SS badly to actually decide to buy one.

7 Boss 429 Mustang ‘Lawman’

The origin of the Boss 429 Mustang ‘Lawman’ is fascinating, at the very least. A popular drag racer, Al Eckstrand founded the Lawman Performance Team in 1970. Their motive was to provide armed forces in foreign countries with the latest muscle cars coming from Detroit.

Only one of these Mustangs survives today. It’s the Boss 429 with a 1000-horsepower V8! Eckstrand gave it the name Blue Devil and wrestling star Bill Goldberg currently has it. We can see people like Danny Koker fall in love with such a powerful and iconic car, but we doubt Bill is planning to sell it anytime soon.

Let’s jump from the ’70s to the year 2020. It was an unforgettable year with global pandemics and deadly diseases. But not all was bad because Aston Martin gave us the most extreme British sports car yet. We all know that the Count loves classic cars, but if there’s one modern car we think he’d fall for, it would be the Aston Martin Victor.

It uses a tuned 7.3-liter V12 from the One-77. Now pair that 836 HP and 606 lb-ft of torque engine with a stick shift, and you’ve got yourself a supercar that’s one of the most amazing to drive.

5 Ford Mustang ‘Bullitt’

We have seen many movie vehicles in Counting Cars, but none of them are as cool as the Bullitt Mustang from the 1968 Steve McQueen movie. There’s always an option to opt for a replica to get the taste of a car that’s the star of one of the best car chase scenes in film history.

But we figure a guy like Danny will only not settle for anything short of the original. And for that, he would have had to pay $3.7 million in an auction in 2020.

4 1946 Figoni & Falaschi Delahaye 135 MS ‘Narval’

One glance at this car, and you’ll instantly get why anyone would want to own one of these. Before WWII, Giuseppe Figoni was one of the most acclaimed coachbuilders. Named after a noble sea creature, the Delahaye Narval was made by Figoni and Ovidio Falaschi for the Salon de l’Automobile de Paris in 1946.

The 135 MS is a special modified vehicle. Only 7 of these were built. It’s one of the most beautiful cars of the decade. Just imagine Danny taking this car to Count’s Kustoms and letting Horny Mike and Roli Szabo run wild on it.

3 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing

When the 300SL first came out, it looked like just another good-looking car from the German automaker. But the first time people saw the Gullwing in action, it looked out of this world. It is one of those classic cars whose appearance still doesn’t get old even today.

It just seems like one of those cars any gearhead will love to get their hands on. Oh, and for those who only look at the specs and numbers, the 300SL was the fastest production car in the world when it came out. But it’ll set you back more than a million bucks if you want to own one right now.

Danny already has a Jaguar. It’s none other than the E-Type—one of the most desirable cars on the planet. However, the Mark X 420G is what you would call a proper Jag. You can check it out in The Grand Tour as well.

While Danny may be easily able to afford the 420G, the real challenge comes in finding one…or a real one anyway. You can barely find used car listings of this model in the US these days. The only other option would be to import it from Europe.

We’re going to give you a minute to take it all in after looking at this work of art. It’s called The Spirit Of Nemo, the nautilus vehicle of choice of Captain Nemo in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It’s less like a car and more like a 21.65 feet long embodiment of class and royalty.

Someone actually bought the street-going version from the production company in 2015/16, and it roamed around the streets of London after that for a while. Danny would not mind at all if his garage had this vehicle as its centerpiece of attraction and achievement.
