The Post-Takeover 36 issue of WWE NXT was taped Monday night from the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. These spoilers will air Tuesday night on the USA Network:
* NXT opens with new Million Dollar Champion Cameron Grimes and WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase stepping out of a limo in the parking lot. They get a big bang as they come to the ring for their Million Dollar Celebration to talk about taking over LA Knight and flying straight to the moon. DiBiase is proud to be Grimes’ mentor now. The segment ends with Grimes shooting a pile of fake dollar bills into the crowd with his face on it
* Ridge Holland defeats Timothy Thatcher. After the match, Tommaso Ciampa checked Thatcher, but Holland pushed him. Pete Dunne interfered and a fight broke out. Oney Lorcan ran out as well as Danny Burch and returned after an injury. Thatcher and Ciampa left the heels behind
* Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis are shown backstage with their new engagement t-shirt. Their wedding is announced for the September 14th episode of NXT
* Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne
* NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez cuts a backstage promo about waiting for Kay Lee Ray to come here. She is interrupted by Franky Monet, Jessi Kamea and Robert Stone. Monet mocks Gonzalez and makes it clear that she is losing the title
* A video package for the NXT Breakout Tournament finals with Odyssey Jones broadcasts
* Kay Lee Ray def. Valentina Feroz. KLR dominated the game and also had a pre-match video package
* New NXT Champion Samoa Joe arrives for a promotion on his Takeover 36 win against Karrion Kross. He is interrupted by Pete Dunne who wants an injection. He calls on NXT General Manager William Regal to make it official. LA Knight interrupts Joe and Dunne because of the heat of the crowd. Knight challenges Joe too, but then Kyle cuts in on O’Reilly. He interrupts a promo for Dunne and Knight, but is attacked by Ridge Holland. Dunne and Joe face each other when Tommaso attacks Ciampa Dunne from behind. Joe, Ciampa, Dunne, Knight and Holland fight until Ciampa and Joe are the last to stand
* NXT General Manager William Regal comes out with a contract for the breakout tournament finals. Regal brought out a new theme from Poppy. Carmelo Hayes defeated Odyssey Jones and won the breakout tournament. Hayes was interviewed after the game. He’s not yet sure which title he’ll fight for
* Backstage promo with Pete Dunne, Ridge Holland, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan cut promos about Samoa Joe, Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. Holland said he put Thatcher on the shelf and will now do the same to Ciampa
* Xyon Quinn defeated Boa due to a distraction from Mei Ying
* Backstage with Johnny Gargano pleading with William Regal to cancel the wedding between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis. LA Knight interrupts with his own business and this leads to a screaming fight
* A diamond mine vignette is broadcast with Malcolm Bivens speaking while Roderick Strong exercises in the background. Strong will be holding an Open Challenge next week. Bivens calls Strong the uncrowned NXT Cruiserweight Champion
* Ridge Holland vs. Tommaso Ciampa is announced for next week. The new NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov will also appear
* Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza, Joaquin Wilde) defeated Hit Row (NXT North American Champion Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, “Top Dolla” AJ Francis, Ashante “Thee” Adonis). A fun match where Escobar pegs Scott to win. “B-Fab” Briana Brandy attacked Escobar once, but a mysterious woman came out and hit her with a gun
