We covered the newly launched New Balance XC-72 silhouette just last week, but the brand is already dropping a glowing collaboration on the sneaker. New Balance and Casablanca have teamed up for an XC-72 collaboration, bringing to life two brightly colored colorways inspired by the sports cars of Monaco.
This is not the first time Casablanca and New Balance have worked together on a shoe. The two brands have merged several times over the past few years and typically use both the 327 and 237 silhouettes as templates for their designs.
However, this latest collaboration uses the new XC-72 as a canvas, with a bright color palette dominating the immediate visual impact. The white and orange pair has a bold green outsole, while the yellow and red colorway has a more reserved black outsole.

The collaboration builds on the vintage automotive theme of Casablanca’s AW21 collection, where a completely white version of the New Balance XC-72 was on public display for the first time. In the film that launched the collection, titled Casablanca Grand Prix, the models party the night away against the opulent backdrop of 1970s Monaco, complete with champion racers, champagne rivers, and a spinning roulette wheel.
Against this red-blooded backdrop of Monaco at its exuberant best, the collaboration between Casablanca and New Balance was presented, as Charaf Tajer and Steve Grimes, Creative Director and Art Director of Casablanca, explained in a statement.
“Ever since we started working on the collaboration, we’ve called it the ‘sports car for your feet’ because it feels like when you first saw a luxury car as a kid, you knew it was a car … but it was different For every car you’ve seen so far, it’s a feeling, a sense of wonder, designed to perform, designed to be special. “
The New Balance-Casablanca XC-72 collaboration will be available in Australia on August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at an MSRP of $ 220.
