Cathay Pacific, Peninsula Hotels extend Marco Polo Diamond benefits

Cathay Pacific’s Marco Polo Diamond members – including their older Diamond Plus and Diamond Invitation siblings – will continue to enjoy a little extra VIP treatment when staying at select Peninsula hotels across Asia.

The partnership between Cathays Marco Polo Club and Peninsula Hotels was launched in late 2019 for Peninsula’s flagship hotels in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing.

However, these premium perks are now being rolled out to the Peninsula hotels in Tokyo, Bangkok and Manila.

The specific benefits depend on each Peninsula property, but here is the key set of sweeteners.

Free room or suite upgrade to the next category: This of course depends on availability at check-in and depends on the room booked, but at The Peninsula Hong Kong, for example, you can expect to upgrade from Deluxe Room to Deluxe Courtyard Room or from a Superior Suite to Deluxe Suite or from a deluxe suite to a superior suite with harbor view.

Early check-in and late check-out: Especially useful if you are arriving on a morning flight or disembarking in the evening.

Free one-way airport transfer with the hotel limousine: Depending on the accommodation, this requires a stay of 2-3 nights and a booking in a certain room category.

Free daily breakfast for two: do not hurry! Take the time to enjoy a lazy breakfast while reading the morning paper.

Some hotel-specific benefits include free lounge access at The Peninsula Manila, where you can enjoy everything from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening cocktails.

There are a handful of perks too, even if you’re not staying at the Peninsula: These include a free cocktail or bottle of wine or champagne at a hotel restaurant, up to 15% off spa treatments, pre-booking for afternoon tea at The Lobby at The Peninsula Hong Kong and free use of the private dining room at certain hotel locations.
